What Motivates You Each Morning?

It sounds so simple and maybe it is. From your first cup of coffee to crushing those goals, I always love to hear what excites people to kick off their day. If you’re not a morning person, maybe it is none of the above, but for me, having a routine and plan for the day is a key part of my morning motivation. I thought I would share a few things from my daily routine but always love hearing what inspires others to get out of bed.

Getting Ready for the Day

If you work from home, this is a key part of my morning motivation. Not only do I need to be prepared for Zoom meetings but getting dressed and ready allows me to feel productive and ready to face the day. I get up early as if I am leaving for the office to stay consistent with my routine.

Daily Devotional/Journaling Time

Before I even grab my coffee (I know, I’m crazy:) or log into work, I sit down and read my daily devotional for the day, spend a few minutes writing some thoughts in my journal and then pray over my day. It sets the tone for how I start the day in the right mindset and prepared for anything that comes my way.

Coffee and Breakfast

Of course, coffee is always a strong motivator to get out of bed each day. I always make sure I grab my iced coffee plus breakfast to start the day fueled and energized. It’s important to stay on track with eating habits and drinking lots of water throughout the day to avoid the mid-afternoon crash too.

Exercise

I am hit or miss with this one but I know a lot of people like to start their day with exercise. I will say if my meeting schedule allows it, I also enjoy kicking off my day by burning some calories. It energizes me for the rest of the day and makes me feel accomplished before 8am.

Planning out the day

Whether it is tasks for work or things around the house, I always make a mental list, and even a handwritten one most of the time, to help me ensure I stay on track with what I need to accomplish that day. This also allows for a greater sense of productivity at the end of the day if you can cross some of those things off the list.

Making Bigger Plans

While daily motivators are important, routine can turn into just that, the same thing day in and day out. It’s so important to also be thinking about your longer term goals and ways to make progress with those in your daily life. Let’s face it. They won’t happen overnight but you have to start somewhere.

Whether you are conquering the world or just trying to get through a typical Monday, having ways to stay motivated are key to happiness and living the full life we all want and deserve. If some of the things above don’t apply, I challenge you to find ways in your day to stay on track and end the day on a high note. Make it a great day friends!
